A WEST Somerset tea and coffee merchant is riding high after food and drink retailers from across the UK voted it into the top five for its products.

Miles Tea and Coffee, based in Minehead and Porlock, was listed in the top five best brands in Fine Food Digest’s annual round-up of award-winning food and drink.

The results came from the magazine’s Best Brands survey that polls speciality retailers around the country on their best-selling lines.

And Miles was the first company to feature in both the top five tea and coffee categories, competing alongside big brands like Tea Pigs and Yorkshire Tea.

“We are really excited,” said marketing manager Sam Burton.

“As a family business and small rural company, it shows what hard work can do.”
