PANCAKE-flipping youngsters celebrated Shrove Tuesday with some nifty frying pan action.
Reception and nursery age youngsters at Knights Templar First School in Watchet incorporated the annual tradition with a morning of activities focusing on co-ordination and physical skills.
They bounced, caught and kicked balls, used hockey sticks and stilts, danced with ribbons and raced with eggs and spoons.
But the highlight of the event was the pancake races.
"The children loved having time to succeed in tossing the pancakes - with only a few landing on their heads," said reception class teacher and early years lead Helen Robinson.
The youngsters raced against others in their group, tossing the pancakes at everyone and trying to keep them in the pans.
"It was a great success and lots of smiles could be seen and laughter heard as the children were triumphant in the challenges they faced," said Ms Robinson.
