SIR — After reading the recent letters in the Free Press from Derek Blay and Bill Oldfield, I agree entirely with all their comments.
Minehead has become a tired and bedraggled looking town which is so sad and short-sighted by members of the West Somerset Council and the town council.
The cleanliness and beautiful floral displays both on the roundabouts and town centre contributed to my husband and I moving to Minehead to live some six years ago.
Tourism is the mainstay of Minehead and it is about time common sense prevailed within the councils.
What use is a clock on the promenade if there are no tourists to see it? And this will surely be the case unless something is not done urgently to tidy up the verges and roundabouts together with extra dog refuse bins of which there are few!
Please think again councillors and listen to the Council Tax payers, or are we going to get a rebate?
June Luker,
Ponsford Road, MInehead.
