A COMMUNITY-owned renewable energy firm celebrated the completion of its first project with the successful installation of 123 solar panels on the roof of Wiveliscombe Children's Centre.
Brendon Energy had to move quickly to finish the job after the Government announced plans to cut the feed-in tariff for solar panel schemes.
On Saturday, supporters celebrated the completion of the project with a launch party at the children's centre.
The panels are expected to generate the equivalent of enough energy to power eight homes each year and have already generated over 1,300 kWh of electricity.
Brendon Energy is 100 per cent owned by Wiveliscombe residents and more information about the company's first solar insulation can be found on the website http://www.brendonenergy">www.brendonenergy. org.
