WATCHET artist Jenny Barron is again taking part in an international exhibition of still life painting at a top London venue.
Jenny has nine paintings at The Gallery, Cork Street, and the exhibition runs from Tuesday until January 26.
"This was a very successful show for me last year, selling six of the eight pictures I contributed," said Jenny.
"It's gratifying to be exhibiting in a part of the more established art world - and to find that people are fascinated by my unusual watercolour technique."
Jenny's richly realistic, lucid and classical approach to painting will be familiar to those who view her annual exhibition at her home studio during Somerset Art Week.
As The Gallery catalogue says: "She has developed her own technique, not dissimilar to the technique used to paint in oil. In her compositions, she is inspired by the Spanish still life painters from the 17th century who, like Jenny, used boxes to frame their compositions.
"With the strong contrast created by the black background, Jenny's still lifes are striking in their simplicity. With the black background, she creates a very deep shadow that almost surrounds the whole object, through which colour and texture is enhanced to its maximum."
Jenny also exhibits at the Lynda Cotton Gallery, in Watchet.
