SIR — I wonder if any of your readers may be able to help me in my research into James Dell, the Antarctic explorer, who died in January 1968 in Blue Anchor.

Attending his funeral were his two daughters, Mrs H Carpenter and Mrs H W Caldwell, and three grand-daughters Mrs T C Wood, Mrs B H Brinton and Mrs A G Pye.

I would be very grateful if any of your readers could put me in contact with any surviving members of Mr Dell's family.
