STAFF in Butlin’s Minehead holiday resort have wrapped up an ‘incredible’ year of fund-raising to support Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
As Butlin’s celebrated a 10-year partnership with the children’s charity, the landmark year was topped off by the company’s largest-ever fund-raising event, Pier to Pier.
A nearly-100 strong team from across Butlin’s three resorts and support office, including 11 from Minehead, walked 26.4 miles from Brighton Pier to Bognor Regis Pier.
The team raised £26,400, equivalent to £1,000 for every mile.
Pier to Pier was just one of many fund-raising events in which staff from Minehead took part throughout 2025.
While the team hosted the resort’s annual football tournament and Swimathon, the resort’s iconic Redcoats supported the children’s charity through daily bucket collections of donations.
Throughout the year, 15 guitars signed by chart-topping Butlin’s Big Weekenders headline artists were auctioned off to guests.
The one-of-a-kind pieces of memorabilia raised more than £15,000 for GOSH.
Across all three Butlin's resorts in 2025 a staggering £190,000 was raised for the children's charity.
Minehead resort director Craig Goodwin said: “It has been amazing to see the Minehead team come together during our celebration of supporting GOSH for 10 years and mark the occasion with Butlin’s biggest ever fund-raising event.
“A huge thank you goes to the whole team, as well as family and friends who supported along the way.
“We are excited to continue our fantastic fund-raising efforts in 2026, as we push closer to the £1 million target.”
Minehead is looking to do even better in 2026, a huge year for Butlin’s as it turns 90.
Great Ormond Street Hospital has been Butlin’s official charity partner since 2015, however the historic partnership started decades before.
Butlin’s founder Sir Billy Butlin donated funds to purchase the UK’s first paediatric CT scanner for the hospital in 1977.
