WAYS of lessening the impact of the works on cliffs above Quay Street that are due to start on Monday, June 20, were aired at a drop-in session for Minehead businesses and residents.
Businesses in Quay Street and at the harbour will be open for business as usual during the three weeks when work will take place – and are planning some enterprising initiatives to attract people, including extended trading hours.
They were able to share these at the drop-in at the Old Ship Aground where people also had the chance to learn more about the remedial works, commissioned by West Somerset Council.
Contractors will be removing rock, dead trees and pruning live trees following inspections that confirmed the work needed to be done.
The work is needed to mitigate the potential impact on properties below the hill.
