THE top rating for hygiene levels has been achieved by Wetherspoon’s Duke of Wellington public house, in Minehead.
The pub, in Wellington Square, was awarded a five-star rating by Somerset Council environmental health inspectors in their ‘Scores on the Doors’ programme.
The programme aims to highlight hygiene standards in pubs, restaurants, take-aways, and clubs across the county.
Pub manager Nathaniel Leader said: “We are delighted that we have gained the top rating and I am sure our customers will welcome the news, too.
“Standards of hygiene at the pub are of paramount importance.
“All of the staff work hard to ensure the pub offers its customers the highest levels of hygiene at all times and we are delighted our efforts have been recognised with the five-star rating.”
