FINE fillies from the Quantock Staghounds have been baring more than their souls for a new calendar which will be launched later this month. Hunt supporters Karen Durman and Louise Kennedy decided to follow the current trend for 'barely nude' calendars to raise morale within the hunting community. They struck on the idea when news of a hunting ban was first mooted and hope the end result, which features a host of well-known local characters, will help to bring a smile to the faces of both huntsmen and huntswomen. Well respected equestrian photographer Fiona Crawford was brought in to take the monthly pictures while Crowcombe-based graphic designer Peter Wrayford was enlisted to produce the end result. Louise said she had been overwhelmed by the support and commitment people had given to the project. She said: "People have gone out of their way to put the success of the calendar first. "It is only with the kindness and generosity of a number of local businesses and hunt supporters that the calendar has come to fruition." The calendars, which have been printed by Colourtone Printers, Taunton, will be launched officially after the hound parade at the Quantock Show in Cothelstone on Monday, August 29. Copies can also be ordered from Louise at: Puddies Meadow, Crowcombe, Taunton, Somerset, TA4 4AE. All proceeds from the sale of calendars, which cost £7 including postage and packing, will go towards the Quantock Staghounds.
