A HORSE was killed at Doniford Beach on Wednesday after apparently falling from a steep slipway giving access to the beach. Fire crews were called to the scene at 10.40am and discovered the animal had fallen and become trapped between the slipway and a metal handrail. Firefighters from Williton used cutting tools to free the animal but it died before a vet arrived at the scene. A witness said she believed the horse was one of two being ridden on the beach before the riders attempted to lead the animals up the slipway.
