SIR — So pleased to see Minehead's contingent of neighbourhood community officers has won such a prestigious award for community relations in this area (Free Press November 8).

Having met two members of the team because of difficulties within the neighbourhood, one finds them patient and understanding to the problems with which they are presented.

One officer particularly knows how grateful one is for the generous time and support given, tending to troubled waters with much tact and sensitivity.

Only recently realising that such a team exists, it is a comfort to know now that it is there for us all whenever necessary.

Obviously all the members of the team have the special principles mentioned above and it is good to see them recognised with such an important and well-deserved award for their tremendous contribution to Minehead's community relations.
