BAKERS of all ages are being encouraged to get mixing and help staff at the Duke of Wellington pub and hotel in Minehead raise money for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
A Community Bake-Off competition is being planned for Monday August 24, with entries charged at £5 a time.
Competitors will be able to enter up to three of five categories, with rosettes up for grabs for the first four places in each section.
There will also be a bake-off trophy for the best overall or star baker.
All entries must be in by 10.30am on the day.
Organisers are also hoping to have stalls and a fundraising tombola set up in Wellington Square from 11am to 4pm, and local church groups have been invited to take part to raise funds for their own causes.
There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by businesses, including two tickets to watch one day of a County Championship match at the County Ground in Taunton next season, donated by Somerset County Cricket Club.
More information is available from Sarah Lou Williams at the Duke of Wellington on 01643 701910.
