The garden at Elworthy Cottage is open on Tuesday (April 27) from 11am- 3pm for an extra opening for the National Gardens Scheme.

The garden, set at the eastern end of Exmoor National Park, is filled with colourful spring flowers such as primulas, pulmonarias, and spring bulbs and with plants for foliage and architectural effect such as epimediums, black-leaved cow parsley, euphorbias and clipped box. The wildflower area contains snakes-head fritillaries, wood anemones and primroses, and there are many interesting trees and shrubs.

Elworthy is on the B3188 half-way between Wiveliscombe and Watchet. Further details available on 01984 656427 or see garden website. No refreshments are available but visitors are welcome to bring their own or a picnic.

Entry is £4, children free, and is by ticket bought in advance from the NGS website for timed entry in order to manage the number of visitors in the garden at a safe level.
