THREE women have set up an outdoor studio – Dunster Village Gardens – and a fitness timetable designed to keep West Somerset moving.

Between them, Becky Jeffery, Jayne Lethaby and Suzanne Richards are offering zumba and body conditioning, Pilates, circuits and kettlecise – skills in which they have experience and expertise.

“We are leading the way for the fitness industry,” said Suzanne.

“The group exercise programme, delivered in any establishment in West Somerset, is vital for people’s general fitness but also mental wellbeing and the social aspect creates a ‘fitness family’ in many classes.

“Together we came up with this plan. The weather hasn’t always been kind the last few weeks but we have carried on come rain or shine”

Jayne said that, having been unable to teach in a group environment has meant instructors have had to adapt and develop new skills and teaching practices: “Teaching online has been a challenging but interesting experience, however we are all keen to get back to face-to-face classes.

“Our time spent in lockdown has been productive, attending virtual training courses and up-skilling, and we are looking forward to delivering this knowledge in our new outdoor studio, Dunster Village Gardens.  We are keeping our fingers crossed for a relatively dry summer.”

Becky said: “We all have a passion for fitness and love to see the journey a client makes. It’s great to be back doing what I love, blasting out the tunes, pushing clients to the best of their ability and seeing them achieve amazing results and having fun with it.

“We hope our classes provide a release to people, an opportunity to see their fitness friends, to meet up and have a chat – all health and safety measure in place and social distancing.”
