CHILDREN in West Somerset could be attending the county’s first Scandinavian-style forest kindergarten from early next year.
Rebecca Moore and her sister Victoria, who run Lille and Wild, in Stogumber, recently won planning permission to build a log cabin-based nursery next to the village cricket ground.
It will take up to 20 children aged from three months to five years who will be educated entirely outside, except in severe weather.
The sisters’ agent Rebecca Randall, of Polden Planning, said the kindergarten already had a waiting list of families and hoped to be open by January.
Ms Randall said the plans had received ‘a fantastic level of support from the community’, including from parish councillors and the village school, as there was no other nursery setting in the area.
