VILLAGERS in Porlock will be going quackers on Sunday (May 24) as they help fund-raise for the annual carnival.
Porlock Duck race will be held at the Sparkhayes Campsite with up to 550 of the yellow plastic ducks being entered for the 11 races, starting at 2 pm and continuing until 5 pm.
The funds raised go to help put on the village carnival in September, which this year is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Ducks will be sold on the day with gates opening and registration starting at 12 noon.
The afternoon will be a family event with a variety of activities in addition to the racing, including the Skintight Samba band, a barbecue, ice creams, bouncy castles, a bar, and various children’s entertainments.
