FATHER Christmas and the Snow King and Queen joined in the fun last Wednesday when Williton held its Christmas Parade and Festival.
Around 50 children wound their way through the village centre to the Pavilion, carrying lanterns and singing carols, watched by scores of onlookers.
“It went very well and was a lovely night,” said parish clerk Michelle Francis.
“The streets were lined with people in the centre, and it was all very nice,”

Multicoloured Christmas lights and carol singing in Carhampton Community OrchardThe parade started at Danesfield School and ended at the Pavilion, where there were festive stalls, refreshments, and Santa’s Grotto where elves, with the help of the parish council, had gifts for the children.
The Snow King was Nick Tainton, and Snow Queen was Isabelle Pickering, who were the winning entrants in a colouring competition the parish council organised through St Peter’s First School.
