A FREE choral concert will follow a village barbecue on Saturday (May 31) as Timberscombe marks its church patronal day.
The feast day celebration for St Petrock will be held in the Church Field from 12 noon to 3 pm - and organisers say the weather forecast ‘looks to be dry’.
The barbecue will have meat and vegetarian options, a licensed bar, live music from Minnie Hates the Hoover, a tombola, raffle, and entertainment for children.
At 4 pm, a choral evensong will be put on in St Petrock’s Church when a professional quartet will sing choral music performed to a high standard.

Last year, the St Petrock festival was also marked by the hanging behind the altar of a reredos, or wall hanging, made by village sewing enthusiasts and crafters and representing a multi-faceted panorama of local scenes, buildings, aspects, features, pets, and wildlife in an artistic fabric collage.
It was the first time since the 1720s that the parish church was known to have a reredos.
