THIS year’s Kilve Open Gardens is being dedicated to the memory of Brian Ward, who played an important part in village life and who with his wife Julie opened their garden for the event over many years.
A spokesperson said: “We shall miss him terribly, and this seemed a fitting tribute.”
The event takes place from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, June 20, and will also raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Care in Mr Ward’s memory.
The spokesperson said: “This is a lovely event, which involves willing villagers opening their gardens to the paying public for Saturday, and on Sunday participating in a very enjoyable ‘private view’ where the garden owners spend most of the day wandering round participating gardens.”
