THE popular Watchet Jumble Trail will return next month for a fourth time with organisers hoping for a record number of both buyers and sellers.

A previous trail saw more than 70 sellers taking part as residents took the opportunity to offer items from their homes, garages, gardens, and driveways across town.

Organiser Kate Kennedy said: “A jumble trail is like a giant community car boot sale spread across Watchet where visitors can follow a trail map to discover hidden treasures, vintage finds, toys, clothes, homeware, books, plants, craft art, and much more.

“We hope that the event will bring visitors to the town, support the local community, and create a fun day out for families and bargain-hunters alike.

“Pick up an official jumble trail map and enjoy a day of bargain hunting around the town.

“Think of it as a large-scale yard sale but with the added bonus of exploring the neighbourhood and meeting new people.”

For people with items to sell, registration forms are available from Watchet Visitor Centre until Friday, September 11. The fee for sellers is £5.

Any surplus proceeds, after event expenses, will be donated to Quantock Foodbank to support local people in need.

A previous sale raised money for the Washford-based South Coast Waves cheerleaders who next year will travel for the world championships in Florida.

Money has also been raised for the West Somerset Welcome Hub which has been supporting Ukrainian refugees and other migrants since 2022.

Visitors are encouraged to take cash, as many sellers will not have card machines, and to support Watchet's local shops, cafés, and pubs while visiting.
