THE coast, countryside and rivers of Exmoor and West Somerset are celebrated in a new walking and wild swimming guide.

From the fossil pavements at Kilve, to the great rivers Tone and Barle, and the famous hogsback cliffs between Minehead and Lynton, the book guides walkers and swimmers through a series of adventures, taking in locations on the coast and inland, across a wide area including Taunton, Dunster, Dulverton, Porlock Weir and Horner Wood.

Wild Swimming Walks Exmoor and North Devon (out on April 1) is the fifth book by Sophie Pierce and Matt Newbury, who love sharing the joy of exploring the incredible coast and countryside. It contains 28 circular walks; each contains one or more swims, either in the sea, river or lake, with practical information including maps and directions, as well as descriptions of the scenery, history and geology.

Sophie said: “We are fortunate to live in such a stunning part of the world, it’s something we perhaps take for granted. The coast of West Somerset is unparallelled in its beauty, as is the countryside inland. We want people to discover the joy of going on adventures close to home.”

The book is available in bookshops, priced £14.99 and direct from the publishers https://wildthingspublishing.com/product/wild-swimming-walks-exmoor-devon/
