A DONATION in memory of much-loved Dulverton border collie Ross Huckins is being used to help put on this year’s family dog show in the Exmoor town.
It will be the second year of the show, which is planned for Sunday, May 24, on the Exmoor Lawns beside the River Barle.
Last year’s show attracted large crowds and a whole host of four-legged friends of all ages, sizes, and breeds.
The 16 classes, some of which are new for 2026, include the best local gun dog living within five miles of Dulverton, and a fancy dress class.
The exemption dog show has classes to suit all ages and abilities, and there are also some activity classes.

Best in show will be selected by the judge from those placed first in all 16 classes.
There will be lots of traditional classes, such as the cutest puppy up to 12 months old, and the best working dog.
Classic fun classes include the dog with the waggiest tail, the best child handler aged 10 and under, and the dog the judge would most like to take home, as well as the best ball catcher, the best trick, and the best sit and stay.
The show judge will again be Pauline Tolhurst, whom the committee has thanked along with Sue Blackmore and all the volunteers and helpers.
The event is being sponsored by local businesses the Bridge Inn, of Dulverton, Masons Kings, of Exebridge, Shalden Shooting School, of Tiverton, and Tarr Farm Inn, at Tarr Steps.
There will also be a selection of hot and cold refreshment stalls, including the Burger Factory R&R, from Barnstaple, the Bridge Inn’s pop-up bar, Really Wild Coffee, East Devon Ices, from Sidmouth, and homemade cakes by Juliet.
Billie, of Field and Fable Photography, will take photographs of the dogs throughout the day.
