POPULAR Minehead drama group the Barnstormers will next month present Robert Harling’s play Steel Magnolias on the stage of the town’s Regal Theatre.

Minehead 2025 Christmas sparkle hasn't faded - but 2026 volunteers sought alreadyDescribed as ‘a beautiful and bittersweet comedy’ set in the 1980s in the deep south of Louisiana, America, the six characters are all women, the beautiful and impulsive Shelby, her strong-willed mother M’Lynn, beauty parlour owner Truvy, confident, wealthy widow, Clairee, sharp-tongued Ouiser, and mousey newcomer Annelle.
A Barnstormers’ spokesperson said the show, which will be performed from May 1 to 3, was ‘guaranteed to touch your emotions, from shedding a tear to having a good laugh’.
Tickets at £11.50 for adults, £9.50 for concessions, and £11 for Regal friends, can be booked through the theatre’s box office.
