A DULVERTON couple took part in an emotional fundraising event to raise money for Cancer Research UK and for Musgrove Park Hospital.

Florist Sarah Gatehouse, from Dulverton flower shop Naturally Fleurish, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, and following surgery needs further treatments with chemo, radio and hormone therapy.

To pre-empt the inevitable hair loss, Sarah has decided to shave her head, and she will be joined by her partner Farren Broomfield, who, if promised enough money, will also shave off his beard as well as his hair.

The shaving took place in Exmoor Studios, the mini theatre which used to be the bank in Dulverton.

Two local hairdressers from Dulverton’s own How’s the Hair, Bodmin House and ISIS the makeover specialists did the shaving.

The couple will be donating their locks to the LittlePrincesstrust.org.uk who can use it to make wigs for children and adults who are also going through treatment where hair loss occurs.
