STORYTELLER Steve Manning popped into Old Cleeve School where children in years three and four are learning about World War Two.

Steve told the pupils what it was like for children during an air raid and showed them a variety of original gas masks, including some worn by children and babies.

They then took part in a quiz, followed by question and answer session, as Steve got into character and played the part of a World War Two air raid warden.

Years one and two had a special visit from Steve in the guise of Thomas Farriner and spent a morning re-enacting freeze frames of the stories told and sketching all of Thomas’ treasures.
