WEST Somerset College has achieved record GCSE results this year, it was announced yesterday (Thursday).

For the first time, 50 per cent of all students gained five or more A*-C grades, with English and maths setting a new record of 53 per cent.

Announcing the results, Peter Elliott, CEO of Bridgwater College Trust, said: “I am absolutely thrilled by the outcomes the students have achieved this year.

“The results clearly show how hard the students, families and teachers have worked over many months to achieve such positive outcomes.

“These are some of the best GCSE results West Somerset College has seen for some years and everyone involved should rightly feel proud of their achievement.”
