AN Exmoor man has been banned from driving for 22 months after being found to have drunk twice the drink-drive limit.

Gregory Herbert, aged 49, of Darbys Knapp, Winsford, was also fined £461 and ordered to pay a victim fund surcharge of £184 and £85 toward the cost of the prosecution.

Prosecuting solicitor Fleur Bullivant said Herbert was stopped on July 5 in Irnham Road, Minehead, and found to have 89 mcg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath, against a legal limit of 35 mcg.

Herbert, who pleaded guilty when he appeared in Taunton Deane Magistrates Court on Friday (August 7), was told his ban would be reduced by 22 weeks if he completed a driving course before November 4 next year.
