SIR — I was furious when I read Ros Robinson's letter in last week's Free Press. how dare she say that "all good working folk using the A39 should be at their work abode" between 9am and 3.30pm.
Doesn't she think that people going out to work on split shifts are good working people? If she went to a restaurant for lunch, the staff probably wouldn't start work until 11 am.
If the doctor had to call on you after his morning surgery, wouldn't he be a good working person?
We actually took our three grandchildren to Doniford Farm on the first day of the road closure. It took us 55 minutes to get back to Dunster, but we went and bought things there and supported a local business in a place with all good working people.

Pupils go back to Danesfield Middle School after deep clean to clear 'vomiting bug'My neighbour is a local nurse in Williton and leaves work at 3 pm, and is so worried that she won't be back to fetch her child from Minehead Middle School in time. She's a good working person.
I do agree, we do live in a beautiful place. I ought to know, I was born here. And I do agree it's a pain with the road being closed, but don't knock our local good workers who aren't advantaged enough to have a nine-to-five job.
