SIR — You have recently covered some of the issues arising from dog fouling but is any progress being made?

Last Sunday I walked along the seafront at Minehead and there was dog excrement at regular intervals along the pavement. I found the same walking through Williton and later Watchet the next day. It seems to be getting worse everywhere.

Everyone recognises that dog fouling is anti-social and has health risks too. Why do a significant minority continue to allow it? Could someone write in and explain.

Is it just laziness or are there other reasons?

Allan Dyer,

Fairfield Drive,
