SIR — Oh, come on now!  Before we have any more grumbling correspondence on the Minehead clock tower (Your Letters May 27), lest anyone else forgets the clock tower for our town is to be erected in celebration of our queen's 60 years on the throne next year - a diamond jublilee, it doesn't happen often.

Does Minehead really want to celebrate this fantastic anniversary with an extra boost of funds for keeping the loos or a library open? Of course not. Plenty of time to sort those out! 

Let's get on with our jubilee gift to the town – no more moans, for goodness sake.
