SIR —Thank you for the excellent report in the July 15 edition covering Porlock Parish Council's decision to run its own library.

I should just like to clarify, however, that my comments concerning possible difficulties relating to Porlock as a location for businesses was made in the context of potentially new office based businesses or art studio/galleries renting part of the existing building, and not our present, vibrant shops and restaurants.

We have an outstanding range of shops and facilities in Porlock which provide a first rate service to both residents and visitors, and help to make the village the attraction that it is.
