For over 25 years, David Goodland’s friendly and cultured tones have been heard in broadcasts to blind and partially sighted persons throughout West Somerset whilst bringing them much-appreciated news stories from the West Somerset Free Press.

David, from Sampford Brett, has been a warm hearted and loyal volunteer and team leader for the West Somerset Talking Newspaper over that long period of voluntary service, becoming a respected friend to both clients and fellow volunteers alike.

Sadly and reluctantly, David has now found it necessary to retire from the role he has enjoyed so much.

May I, on behalf of our grateful clients, use the Free Press to thank David for all he has done to enhance the quality of life of others for so long. David, your quiet and friendly demeanour will be greatly missed.
