CUTCOMBE Young Farmers held their annual sheep show at Cutcombe Market, with members having each been given three sheep to keep with their own flocks and rear to produce the best lambs to show and sell.

The event, sponsored by Bridgeman’s and Exmoor Farmers Livestock Auctions, was very successful, with members competing to win titles for best couple (ewe and lamb), best pen of lambs, best three ewes, best two ewes, champion lamb and champion pen.

They were judged by Ross Whitcombe and results were:

Best couple: Katherine Bigwood, Dan Matravers, Ben Cowling; best pen of lambs: Katherine Bigwood, Steph Rawson, Georgina Rayson; best three ewes: Georgina Rayson, Ben Cowling, Steph Rawson; best two ewes: Nick Matravers; champion lamb: Katherine Bigwood, Will Everett, Ben Cowling; champion pen: Katherine Bigwood, Steph Rawson, Mark Matravers.

The club expressed thanks to Jenny Rawle for helping to organise the show, and the sponsors Bridgeman’s and Exmoor Farmers Livestock Auctions.It is hoped the event will be held again next year.
