AN indoor curling club has been started in Minehead to encourage men aged 50 years and older to stay active.

The free sessions are held in the sea front Beach Hotel from 10.30 am to 11.45 am fortnightly on Thursdays, with the next one scheduled for April 23.

The non-competitive club offers men ‘something new, social, and easy to get involved in’ with no pressure, they can just turn up and play a sport suitable for all abilities.

A spokesperson said: “These relaxed sessions are a great way to meet new people, stay active, and have a laugh in a friendly environment - no experience needed.”

The sessions are run by the Somerset Cricket Foundation with funding from the Hinkley Point C community fund and registration is online.
