HUNDREDS of ducks made a dash for victory in Porlock at a fundraiser for the village's annual carnival.
The sun shone and the crowds turned out for the annual duck race run by Porlock Carnival Committee last Sunday.
A total of 500 plastic ducks bobbed their way along the Hawkcombe Water at Sparkhayes Campsite, with local businesses and individuals sponsoring the ten races and prizes and rosettes awarded for the first three places in each race.
The final challenge involved all the previous winners, with this year's overall supreme championship going to Clark Short from Porlock, whose name will be engraved on a cup that will go on display in the Royal Oak pub.
