Timberscombe v Brasted Invicta
TIMBERSCOMBE had the better of this drawn match at home to tourists Brasted Invicta on Sunday, Sunday.
Put in to bat, the home side were given the ideal start by openers Bruce Lang and Dave Cook who put on 115 in 25 overs. After Cook was dismissed for a stylish 47, Clive Strong hit a quick 20 and with Lang finally being dismissed for 59, Timberscombe posted a useful 187-8.
The visitors most successful bowlers were N Robinson with five wickets and K Cheese with three.
The tourists had a useful start in reply with an opening stand of 47 between J Richards and T Buston, but once they were separated wickets fell regularly and so they never really launched a serious challenge.
Young Toby Parnell bowled particularly well taking 3-23, with the other wickets being shared out amongst the bowlers Brasted finished in 127-7, and Timberscombe might have been even closer to victory if there had not been a base case of 'careless hands' by Steve Perkins!

Bridgetown v Fleet Street
A CLOSE encounter took place on Friday when Bridgetown just beat Fleet Street by five runs.
Bridgetown batted first and with Miles Richards (70) in good form and Williams Sherring (72) supporting well they reached 244-8.
B Burgess did his best to hold the home side back, taking 3-12 from eight overs.
Peter Hayter got Fleet off to a flying start and then 'guests' Michael Sherring (85) and John Gritten (45) took up the challenge and the visitors were just six short when the last ball of the game was bowled.
Paul Matravers was on good form with the ball taking 6-44.
Bridgetown: 244-8 (W Sherring 72 no, M Richards 70, B Burgess 3-12).
Fleet Street: 239 (M Sherring 85, J Gritten 45, P Hayter 22, P Matravers 6-44, D Hillier 2-26).
Bridgetown v Kiwis
BRIDGETOWN had no trouble in taking the shine off the Kiwis on Sunday, beating them by 148 runs.
Bridgetown's batsmen found the wicket and bowling to their liking and most got amongst the runs.
Doug Sherring and Ken Cross hit 62 and Dan Stone was undefeated on 46 when the home side's innings closed on 252-7 and for Kiwis T Foster finished with 3-55.
The Kiwi batsmen were always struggling, only M Farrington and S Woodrow reaching the thirties.
William Sherring finished with 4-7 for Bridgetown, which included a hat-trick.

Winsford v New Statesman
WINSFORD won this friendly last Wednesday against New Statesman by five wickets, victory coming in the last over.
New Statesman batted first and made a steady start with T Wood scoring 31.
Two wickets each from A Blackmore and R Howe helped to restrict the visitors to 89-8 from their 20 overs.
Winsford also found the going tough but a good partnership between D Phippen (33 no) and W Sherring got the home side to within six runs of victory in the last over.
T Matravers then came in and hit a six with two balls of the match remaining to gain victory for Winsford.
New Statesman: 89-8 (J Wood 31, A Blackmore 2-11, R Howe 2-22).
Winsford: 90-5 (D Phippen 33 no, W Sherring 22).
#Brompton Ralph v New Statesman
THIS 35 over friendly between Brompton Ralph and New Statesman saw Brompton win by 33 runs last Tuesday.
Brompton batted first and J Lee (74) and N Prince (64) were the main run scorers in their total of 195-8.
Sadish had a good spell with the ball and finished with 4-24.
New Statesman's reply was solid but there was not enough flair to list the run rate when required.
Xian top scored with 33, with good knocks from Jack and Ralph, and for Brompton G Fitt bowled well to take 3-39.

Roadwater v
Minehead Sunday XI
ROADWATER were victorious over Minehead Sunday XI by 12 runs in this friendly at Roadwater.
Roadwater batted first and in the first over lost two wickets, B Hamblin bowling both of them to leave the score 1-2.
J Notley and T Brewer then took the score to 43 when Notley was dismissed for 23, which then brought in S Cornish to partner Brewer and they put on 80 when Brewer was dismissed for 64.
Cornish and L Notley then took the score to 165-5 before Cornish was out for 47. The home side's innings closed on 190-7 with B Hamblin the pick of the bowlers with 3-23.
Craig Sully and Joel Baker set Minehead off to a great start with an opening stand of 80 when Sully was dismissed for 57.
Four wickets then fell without any batsman getting going but then Tom Downer, aided by six dropped catches, came in and hit 42 to give Minehead a chance. However the score required was just too far away and Minehead's innings ended at 178-8, 12 runs short.
