A NEW series of creative workshops will see in the New Year at Halsway Manor, near Crowcombe.
Beginning with writing workshops on four consecutive Sundays from January 8, the Creative Communities events are specifically aimed to enable those living in West Somerset to access quality arts workshops at a low cost.
The January creative writing sessions will be followed by songwriting in April, dance in July and art and craft in October.
January’s creative writing series is led by Alice Maddicott and is aimed at all levels of ability.

Alice has run workshops for the National Trust, Creative Partnerships and the Eden Project among others. She was resident writer for the Bath Festival in 2015, and has published in various magazines as well as anthologies including her own poetry book.
She has developed an interest in creating immersive story spaces combining her love of literature with arts and crafts working in the UK and Europe with museums and galleries.
Workshops run from 10am until 5pm with a roast lunch included in the cost - £45 each or £150 for all four.
