A LANDMARK strategy has been agreed to help local people keep a rented roof over their heads when thousands of workers descend on the area to find work at Hinkley Point C.
West Somerset Council this week approved an initial £1.2 million package of housing measures designed to offset the impact of the anticipated 6,000-strong Hinkley C construction workforce.
The strategy aims to provide additional help - and cash incentives - to private sector landlords to ensure local people on low wages or those who are out of work do not get squeezed out of the rental market.
