SIR — Just a reminder to anyone who wants to become a district, town or parish councillor - all equally important - that now is the time to think about it and start asking questions. There will be vacancies all over West Somerset at the elections in May 2015. I am standing down and in my ward, Williton, there will be parish and district council vacancies. And don't forget: just because you are already a councillor it does not mean your position is safe. You only have to ask to know what it entails. It is better to ask than to join a council for a few weeks or months and then decide it is not for you. You have to be committed. It takes time, so think first - best of luck.
