THE Minehead Beat Team will be holding its first ‘Coffee with Cops’ event on Tuesday (May 2) when people can raise local concerns, get advice or just have a quick chat with their local police officer.

The events aim to make the team more accessible to their communities and will be held at different cafés and locations around the town. People have to buy their own coffee.

PC Joe Sanderson and PCSOs Emma Hill and Katherine Williams at Chambers, in The Avenue, between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Tuesday.

“We want to run events like this so we are out and about in our community, visible and accessible at times and in places that make it easy for people to speak to us,” said PC Sanderson.

“Please drop in, grab a cuppa and have a chat with us. We can listen to any crime, ASB or community issues you might have, give advice or just have a chat.

“It’s an opportunity for local people to get to know our faces and see that they do have a local neighbourhood team.

“It’s also an opportunity for some of our smaller residents to perhaps come with parents and meet us so they can see we aren’t scary and that we are there if they ever need us.”
