REPRESENTATIVES of the Exmoor Hill Farming Network rubbed shoulders with royalty when they helped to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Prince’s Countryside Fund.
They were among 95 guests who were invited to a garden party at Highgrove House, the Gloucestershire home of the Prince of Wales, to mark the milestone anniversary of the fund.
Exmoor Hill Farming Network chairman Dave Knight and network officer Katherine Williams were able to meet Prince Charles and explain how the fund had helped to support their organisation.
“We enjoyed a wonderful tour of gardens and were delighted to meet HRH personally.
“He was very interested to hear about the support we are providing to the farming community on Exmoor,” said Katherine.
A number of Prince’s Countryside Fund Ambassadors, including Alan Titchmarsh, Ellie Harrison and Phil Vickery were also invited to the event.
The Prince’s Countryside Fund was founded by Prince Charles to help ensure a sustainable future for rural Britain.
In the five years since its inception, the fund has distributed over £6 million in grants to 135 projects, benefiting 160,000 people who live and work in rural communities.
