South Somerset District Council's Yeovil-based Careline has been awarded the national Chartermark for the quality of the service it provides.

Careline provides a 24-hour alarm answering service to almost 7,000 clients, allowing them to retain independence and being able to summon help by the touch of a button.

The Chartermark report stated: "Your service is one where users have special needs. You not only deliver the core service but are able to tailor it to provide what users see as a personal service for them."
