THE mother and sister of a Williton teenager who died in a car accident earlier this year have presented a cheque for £3,240 to ensure her memory lives on.
Helen and Danielle Adams handed over the money to Croft House care home in Williton to be put towards a £25,000 appeal to create a specialist dementia garden at the home.
Bethany Paige Adams was just 17 when she died in the crash on the A358 near Crowcombe and had worked at the home's dementia wing since leaving school last July.
Her sister Danielle also works at Croft House and she joined her mum Helen and aunt Gilly Rumney to present the money to Croft House manager Diane Allen.
The women also gave a bird table for the dementia garden, which was donated by Alcombe Pet Shop.
The money was raised during a fundraising charity night organised by Bethany's parents Helen and Mark at the Wyndham Arms in Williton.
The cheque also included £200 raised by the efforts of competitors in this year's Danesfield Fun Run around Williton, together with cash collected during bingo nights and the school's Christmas fair.
Helen said: "I would like to thank everybody who gave prizes for the raffle, people who bought tickets and everyone who has helped us to raise the money."
The planned dementia garden will help to stimulate dementia sufferers through sight, touch and smell and will include a summerhouse, greenhouse and outdoor seating.
Home owner Somerset Care has already pledged £10,000 towards the appeal, leaving Croft House and its supporters to find the remaining £15,000.
Helen is already busy planning a fundraising halloween bingo night, while the home's annual summer fete will take place on Saturday August 25, featuring a raffle for a handmade quilt made by the Williton Quilters in aid of the dementia garden appeal.
