THE first grants from Exmoor Community Trust Fund to support community projects within the Exmoor National Park boundary are now available, Somerset Community Foundation has announced.
The fund was established last year following the sale of the Exmoor Community Computer Centre, based in the former Winsford village school, and these funds are the first to be drawn down from the invested capital.
It is hoped that local people, businesses and communities will take the opportunity to build the fund into a major asset to help ensure a lasting legacy for people living on Exmoor.
At present, funding is available for most types of community projects, but Somerset Community Foundation is particularly keen to hear from those addressing the advancement of education and the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure pursuits, which help to improve people’s lives.
The closing deadline for applications is September 15. For further details and guidelines on eligibility contact programmes manager Karen Collins on 01749 344 949, or visit the Somerset Community Foundation website at www.somersetcf.org.uk
