BUS campaigners are looking for volunteers to help man stalls and promote buses in Minehead and Watchet over the next two weekends.

Somerset Bus Partnership will be in Minehead on Saturday, June 7, from 10 am to 1 pm and in Watchet on Sunday, June 15, from 10 am to 3 pm.

A spokesperson for the partnership said: “We will have free copies of all local bus timetables and our team will be on hand to offer advice on local bus services.

“We are also gathering feedback to pass on to the bus operators - your views matter.

“Local bus timetables will be available and come and tell us what you think of the bus services.

“We are looking for extra volunteers to help at the stalls who are able to hand out bus timetables.

“Can you spare an hour or two?

“Training and guidance will be given.

“Do get in touch if you can help.

“We need more local representatives in the Minehead and Watchet and surrounding areas to promote buses.”

The partnership will set up its Minehead stall in The Avenue near the bus stop outside the cinema, while in Watchet it will be on the Esplanade as part of the town’s charity street fair.

The bus partnership provides a platform for bus users in the county to make their views heard about the services they need.

The spokesperson said: “Somerset people should be able to get around by bus, to where they want to go, when they want to go, and their journey by bus should be reliable, comfortable, and affordable.”

Anybody who wants to help the partnership, which works with local and unitary councils as well as with the bus operators, should email to [email protected].

The partnership has a passenger feedback survey on its website.
