A BRISTOL man who caused a breach of the peace in Minehead 18 months ago has been ordered by magistrates to pay a total of more than £430 for the offence.

Samuel Wright, aged 35, of Bickford Close, Barrs Court, changed his plea to guilty when he appeared in Taunton Magistrates Court on Tuesday (April 14).

Wright was charged with using threatening and/or abusive and/or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of, or provoke, unlawful violence against a man in Minehead on October 2, 2024.

The magistrates fined Wright £250 and ordered him to pay £85 Crown Prosecution Services costs and a £100 victim surcharge.

He was allowed to pay the penalties at a rate of £100 a month, starting in May.
