SIR — I would like to draw attention to the footpath leading out of the Williton Recreation Ground to Robert Street and the doctors' surgery.

For scooters, wheelchairs, pushchairs etc, it is a bone-shaking experience, and even folk without stout shoes find it uncomfortable, muddy etc.

Would it be possible to have a tarmac strip to make the journey more comfortable for us? It is such a good short cut through to the chemist and surgery etc.
