LIFEBOAT crew members in Minehead have been limbering up their singing voices for the return of their annual Christmas carols event on Friday (December 15).

The ‘Carols in the Boathouse’ evening starts at 7 pm, when the Royal National Lifeboat Institution crew will be performing a special version of ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy mulled wine and mince pies, and will have an opportunity to look around Minehead’s recently opened £1 million updated boathouse.

Lifeboat operations manager John Higgie said: “After a hiatus, we are delighted to welcome back ‘Carols in the Boathouse’ and to be able to show the public the long-awaited boathouse refurbishment.

“There is no entrance fee, although all donations toward our lifesaving work are gratefully received.

“All are welcome, although visitors should make sure to wrap up warm as most will be outside due to the success of the event in previous years.”
