AN army of male volunteers was called on to show pupils at Knights Templar First School, in Watchet, that reading is not just for girls.

The volunteers read a wide range of stories and poems to the children to prove that reading could be fun for everyone.

Storytellers included Watchet Football Club manager Nick Sully, Tae Kwon Do instructor Steve Berry, community policeman Adam Dolling, area swimming instructor Colin Christmas, Army Cadet Force representative Andrew Trunks, Watchet Dolphins Swimming Club representative Jim Butterworth, Barbarians Rugby Club representative David Riggs, the Rev David Bolton and the Rev David Ireson.
